Reviving fire damaged Daresbury Hall

MGA have recently submitted a planning application for the Daresbury Hall site in Cheshire. The Grade II* Listed mansion was ravaged by fire in 2016 but the proposed development would see the heritage asset repaired to its former glory, with new residential development across the site.

The fire, a suspected arson attack, made national news and the extent of the damage can be seen here in this drone footage:

MGA Director Julian Handy gave an update on the project:

"After many years of endeavour on behalf of our client to secure the future of Daresbury Hall, we are pleased to be able to make the latest planning submission to Halton Borough Council for the development of the site as a whole that will ultimately enable the repair of the listed hall.

The projects draws parallels with the recent fire at The Glasgow School of Art, the magnificent Mackintosh Building that was again hit by a devastating fire. The debate about whether to rebuild or replace is being keenly debated - more on that in our Summer newsletter.

We will keep you updated as the Daresbury project progresses.
