Underground house

Underground water tank house CROSS SECTION.jpg

We’re currently working on an unusual private house in redundant water reservoir on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. It’s a project with lots of challenges – not least the conversion of an old ‘equilibrium’ tank the size of a football pitch with no natural light.

Our proposal is to open up one of the elevations to provide a new contemporary glass wall with views across to the Fylde Coast and Blackpool Tower. The house will have a large double-height entrance, feature staircase and an enclosed central courtyard garden.
