MGA have recently completed a project to extend and completely renovate an existing single storey cottage in Underbarrow to form a beautiful holiday cottage.
Jo did some fine work retaining the charm of the local vernacular whilst achieving a comfortable and contemporary interior. The new two storey layout boasts a glazed gable, taking advantage of the fantastic views. You can rent the property, Highbeck, via the agents website www.lakelovers.co.uk
Our project to extend a cottage at the foot of Skiddaw, just north of Keswick has been completed and is looking great. NuStyle Builders of Kendal have done a sterling job. The project involved a two storey extension including a new Master Bedroom suite and large ground floor Sitting Room with front facing glass projection. The front facing view is stunning.
Its 3 years since we completed a lovely contemporary extension to a Listed private house in South Liverpool. We thought we'd share the youtube video of the project produced by the contractor Foresight Building Services.
You can see some more images of the project in the portfolio pages of the website.
As the construction work continues up at 1692 Wasdale, near Gosforth in the Western Lake District, attentions turn to interiors and detailing. To help things along, Lee has been doing some sketches of the Bedroom Suites to give a flavour of the unusual mezzanine bathrooms in the lofty barns.
We have just completed a lovely project in Cheshire, incorporating a contemporary laminated timber framed extension on a traditional brick pair of cottages, creating large open plan living spaces. The extension sports a terned stainless steel roof.
We recently went back to re-visit a project Mason Gillibrand completed more than 10 years ago in the village of Culcheth in Cheshire. The contemporary conversion of a steel framed ATCO building into high spec residential units has proved a great success.
